Magnetic Decay: Magnetic oxide gradually loses its charge, leading to fading colors, dropouts, and audio static.

We examine each tape, disc, and reel, evaluate condition, and verify format requirements.
3. We Digitize In-House
Your media is digitized using dedicated hardware TBCs and high-resolution film transfer systems.
4. We Polish Your Files
We trim dead air, and encode clean, high-bitrate digital video files.
5. You Receive Your Digital Memories
Finished videos are delivered on your choice of USB storage (optional fee) or direct digital download (complimentary).
Note: All original videotapes, discs, and film reels are returned safely to you when your project is complete.

We deliver videos as universal MP4 (H.264) files, which offer the best balance of pristine visual quality and compatibility with modern smart TVs, Macs, Windows PCs, phones, and tablets.
Archival master formats (such as Apple ProRes) are also available upon request.

You can choose complimentary direct digital download or have your videos pre-loaded onto high-speed USB thumb drives or external hard drives (additional fee). See our USB Storage page for details.

We review tapes during transfer. If a tape is blank or contains only copyrighted commercial broadcast television (with no personal home video footage), we do not charge full digitization pricing for that tape.

Yes. We perform tape splice repairs and cassette housing replacements for broken or cracked tape shells.
We will assess the tape's physical condition during intake and confirm repair details with you before proceeding. Some repair processes will have an additional fee.

We do not film a projected image on a white wall or screen. We use dedicated, frame-by-frame digital scanning with cool, sprocket-safe LED illumination to capture sharp, clear high-definition footage without heat stress to your original film.

Your physical tapes and reels remain in our care throughout the project and are returned to you when the project is finished.

Most standard projects are completed within 2–3 weeks from start, depending on the quantity of projects already in the queue ahead of your project. We will provide a timeline estimate when we inspect your media. Rush service is also available.
